Sell a car without inspection or insurance in Tallinn

Yes, you can sell a car even if the technical inspection has expired and there is no motor insurance. An ownership change is allowed without a valid inspection, the car just cannot be driven on the road. We come to the car, value it on the spot and take it away. You get paid the same day.

Fill out the car evaluation form

When you enter the car number, the data will be automatically filled in the form, which will make it easier for you to fill it out.

Why it doesn’t pay to keep a car that just sits there

Many owners leave a car without inspection parked in the yard: passing inspection means repairs, and insurance feels like a waste of money. The catch is that the obligations of a registered car stay with its owner. A registered vehicle may be without motor insurance for up to 12 months after the policy ends. After that, compulsory insurance from the Estonian Traffic Insurance Fund kicks in, and it costs much more than a regular policy.

When you sell the car to us, these worries end at the moment of the ownership change: the car is registered to us, and so are its future obligations. You don’t need to pass inspection, because the ownership change is possible without it. You don’t need to deliver the car either, we arrange the pickup ourselves.

How the deal works

Send the car details

Call us or fill in the form. Mention that the inspection or insurance is missing and get a preliminary price by phone.

On-site valuation

We come to wherever the car is: a yard, garage or car park. The valuation takes up to 30 minutes.

Contract and ownership change

We sign the sales contract and complete the ownership change in the Transport Administration e-service. We pay the state fee.

Money and pickup

You get paid the same day by bank transfer or in cash. We take the car away.

Documents and price

Documents you need

A missing inspection or insurance does not change the list of documents. You need the same as for any sale.

What the price depends on

An expired inspection by itself barely lowers the price. What matters more is why the car didn’t pass it.
